Counting nearly 1200 employees, the Département de médecine aiguë (D-MA) includes the services of clinical anesthesiology, pharmacology and toxicology, adult intensive care, and adult emergencies. It responds to a quadruple mission through its services which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève, thanks to a transversal platform, with the objective of ensuring the best possible care for patients. The Intensive Care Service takes charge of adult patients who present with or are in immediate danger of developing vital organ failure as part of a pathology or its complications, whether medical or surgical, and whose vital risk is generally engaged. It also advises and intervenes when necessary during resuscitation situations in other HUG services and participates in urgent hospital interventions. And what would you say to making a difference by taking charge of patients with threatened vital functions, within a large intensive care service. In our Intensive Care Service, you provide high-tech nursing care encompassing curative, preventive, palliative, educational, and rehabilitation dimensions. This care is personalized and global, provided to a patient population of all ages and in situations presenting different levels of complexity. The intensive monitoring of the persons under care, the implementation of pain therapies upon prescription, the execution of resuscitation and emergency measures, and the use of medical-technical devices are your daily routine. All care is delivered with competence, in a holistic and empathetic manner. You know how to face the complexity of the situations encountered and emergency interventions, by acting in a rapid, flexible, and anticipatory way within the framework of the activities delegated to you. You collaborate in the supervision and training of new nursing staff, nursing students, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals. You also contribute to quality development and research in the health field. Qualifications ## Are you interested in EPD-ES training and the profession of adult intensive care specialized nurse? Thanks to your sense of organization and priority management, you feel able to commit to this demanding certifying training for a duration of 2 years. After a first analysis of your file, an invitation to perform a diagnostic of your technical knowledge will be sent to you. To this end, you will receive by email a link to an online MOOC which will allow you to self-assess your core technical knowledge. This skills assessment is an online training that will require an investment of several hours (count approximately 10 hours of training) and which invites you to immerse yourself in the reality of specialized services by offering you self-assessments and didactic materials allowing you to develop your skills. Once you have completed the MOOC in its entirety, your final diagnostic is included in your application file and will serve as a basis for discussion during the selection interviews.
