At the Direktion für Bildung, Soziales und Sport, the human being is at the center. The Asylsozialdienst fulfills tasks in the asylum and refugee sector and is responsible for strategic and operational tasks surrounding the topic of asylum. The Asylsozialdienst is responsible for promoting linguistic, professional, and social integration and the provision of social assistance benefits to recognized refugees, provisionally admitted persons, and asylum seekers. Since 01.07.2020, the Asylsozialdienst has been a regional partner of the Canton of Bern and is responsible for the care of persons from the asylum sector in Bern, Köniz, Muri, Ostermundigen, Bremgarten, and Zollikofen. For the Asylsozialdienst of the city of Bern, we are looking for committed social workers to strengthen our team in the support of refugees. Our field of work is demanding, versatile, and of high social importance. With this recruitment, we pursue the goal of tangibly reducing the caseload within the team. In this way, we create the prerequisites for professional, reliable, and high-quality case management as well as sustainable support for the persons being cared for. Tasks & Profile What you move • You accompany and advise people with refugee status, provisional admission, asylum seekers, as well as people seeking protection regarding personal, financial, material, and legal concerns - with the goal of supporting them on their path to more independence and social/societal participation • You promote and accompany the linguistic, professional, and social integration of clients and thereby make a valuable contribution to their successful future in Switzerland • You carefully clarify subsidiarity claims and contribute to ensuring that benefits are provided transparently and according to need • You create individual budgets according to cantonal guidelines for (asylum) social assistance • You work as needed with internal and external specialist agencies and build a sustainable network to achieve sustainable solutions with clients • You maintain case documentation in the case management system (NFAM) in a traceable and complete manner and ensure professional data maintenance What you bring • You have completed training in Social Work • Preferably, you have professional experience in statutory social work as well as in the asylum sector • You have good IT skills • You bring flexibility, independence, and high resilience • You are a team player Your benefits in Bern For meaning & city life With us, you change something.
