80--100 % from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement What are your tasks: <br /> • You bear responsibility for the acquisition, preservation, accessibility, and provision of the archaeological collections that are owned by the Canton of Basel-Landschaft or are entrusted to it for care on the basis of the Römervertrag. • You initiate and accompany the key project for the organizational and spatial merger of the archaeological collections of the Canton, including the re-inventorying of existing stocks. • You develop the collection strategy for all archaeological collections as well as the derived collection concepts and processes and continuously develop them further. • You are responsible for the loan system as well as the administration and further development of the find depots. • You bear the technical, personnel, and administrative responsibility for leading a medium-sized team. • You are actively involved in shaping concepts for the digitalization of the cantonal collections together with the collections of Museum.BL. • You are committed to ensuring that the collection holdings are available for research and support the public operations, namely Augusta Raurica, in communicating scientific findings from the collection area. • You maintain relationships with national and international museum and non-museum collections as well as educational institutions. <br /> What you bring with you: <br /> • You have a completed university degree in Provincial Roman Archaeology, Classical Archaeology, Medieval Archaeology, or Pre- and Early History. • You bring sound experience in the care and further development of archaeological collections. • You have several years of leadership experience in managing medium to large teams, ideally in the context of public administration. • You communicate clearly and appreciatively, approach people openly, and enjoy working with different stakeholders. • You accompany employees on the path to the merger by communicating transparently, positively, and clearly. • You work in a structured, committed manner and naturally use digital working tools, especially databases. • You can assert yourself if necessary, think in a service-oriented manner, and maintain an overview even in demanding situations. • You enjoy conveying your specialist knowledge to different target groups and are willing to work on weekends if necessary. <br /> For questions about the position Jakob Baerlocher Leiter Archäologie Baselland Tel. 061 552 22 30 For questions about the application process Stephan Imhof HR-Berater Tel. 061 552 50 90 Amt für Kultur / Archäologie Baselland The <<Archäologie Baselland>> is a newly formed department of the Amt für Kultur of the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. As a cantonal specialist office, it is responsible for the protection and research of archaeological sites, zones, and movable objects within the cantonal territory. The department is being created as part of the organizational development of the Amt für Kultur: the archaeological specialist departments and collections of the former main departments <<Archäologie und Museum Baselland>> as well as <<Römerstadt Augusta Raurica>> are being organizationally merged within it.
