We are the global market leader in implantable and extracorporeal blood pumps based on magnetic levitation technology. Our life-saving systems, which we develop and manufacture in Zurich, are used for patients suffering from advanced heart failure requiring short or long-term circulatory support. Our site, located in the heart of the city of Zurich, has approximately 130 employees in the fields of development, quality, and production of the CentriMag and HeartMate 3 systems. We are looking for a motivated and talented SET Project Manager. ### Your role and impact As an individual contributor, the project manager plans and manages the execution of supplier-focused projects for continuous improvement and sustaining engineering of products, manufacturing equipment, and processes, from concept to completion, responsible for all aspects of project planning, cross-departmental coordination, and reporting. The following activities will be required of the project manager as part of their normal work: • Evaluate and fully understand management direction to meet customer needs. • Plan and manage the project, including resource and risk management, to close the project on time, within budget, and with the required quality. • Support ongoing regulatory documentation and processes. • Light travel is required for training, project planning activities, and stakeholder management (internal/external). • Provide technical support to other functions if necessary. ### What you will do • Support Abbott HF long-term strategic objectives to address risks in the production of components purchased from HF Zurich suppliers. • Lead the project with core project team members from different departments and external stakeholders (e.g., suppliers/services, etc.). • Understand product processes at suppliers and customer needs to continuously improve product performance (e.g., product requirements/specifications) and address quality risks. • Lead and support technical activities, such as design changes, V&V testing, validation protocols, regulatory and patent submissions to address identified risks at suppliers. • Apply project management best practices and lean principles for product and process improvement both internally and at suppliers, in compliance with regulatory requirements. • Plan and manage project expenses (PEx) to execute remediation activities at suppliers. • Manage the project budget with accurate forecasting, including mid-month and end-of-month reports. • Regularly report project health to executive management. Effectively manage stakeholders both internally (project sponsor, steering committee members, etc.) and externally (e.g., suppliers, services, etc.). • Establish effective communication and feedback lines with supply chain, manufacturing, quality control, engineering, regulatory, and R&D to ensure rapid attention and resolution of conditions negatively affecting quality or reliability. ### What we are looking for • Master's in engineering or equivalent knowledge. • 3 to 10 years of engineering experience. • Advanced experience in project management and best practices. • Solid experience in supplier management in a project context. • Significant experience in developing supplier relationships. • Good financial skills and business acumen. • Good written and oral communication skills for cross-functional management of the project team and stakeholders. • Basic understanding of regulatory requirements and the quality system. • Optional: Lean Six Sigma certificate.
