Supervisor / Caretaker - Lobby - Career changers welcome 80 - 100% # With around 1,400 employees, Justizvollzug und Wiedereingliederung (JuWe) is responsible for the execution of sentences and measures as well as for the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of convicted persons and are effectively and progressively committed to a safe and just society. Die Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe, comprising seven facilities with around 735 prison places and approximately 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, investigation and security detention, as well as the early execution of sentences and measures until transfer to an execution facility. In doing so, they fulfill a central function within the Zurich justice system. As part of die Untersuchungsgefängnisse Zürich (UGZ), das Gefängnis Zürich West (GZW) is located in the Polizei- und Justizzentrum Zürich and has 241 detention places. It specializes in provisional arrest as well as investigative detention and plays a central role in the reception and initial care of detained persons. To strengthen our team in the lobby, we are looking for a committed and team-oriented personality. The position is limited to 12 months from the date of employment. Your tasks ### • You monitor and control access as well as security-relevant processes • As the first point of contact, you receive visitors, lawyers, and other external specialists • The telephone switchboard is your responsibility; you coordinate incoming requests efficiently and in a solution-oriented manner • In close cooperation with internal services, you ensure smooth operations • Administrative tasks related to lobby operations are also part of your daily routine • Even in these situations, you ensure consistent compliance with security regulations • You conduct conversations with angry or emotionally burdened persons calmly and professionally • In security-critical moments, you act prudently and with decision-making strength • Even under time pressure or in unclear situations, you remain structured and clear What you bring with you ### • You are at least 25 years old, have a completed apprenticeship (EFZ or Gesellenbrief), and have no entries in the criminal or debt enforcement register • Ideally, you have experience in a security, care, or service-oriented environment • High psychological and physical resilience, sense of responsibility, and assertiveness are natural for you • a calm, objective, and prudent demeanor as well as empathy in demanding situations • clear communication, a firm stance, and appropriate persistence • You have very good German skills in speaking and writing.
