Project Manager Urban Design / Open Space 80 - 100% per 1. September 2026 or by arrangement Your new task Your field of activity is versatile and focuses primarily on the coordination of projects in the area of urban design and in themes of public space for sustainable urban development. In doing so, you will lead urban design and open space studies as well as concepts, accompany feasibility studies and variance procedures, in particular for special use planning, and assist in the implementation of the housing strategy. This position is suitable for you if • You have training in urban / spatial planning, urban design / architecture or another spatial discipline for the urban living environment. • You have experience and competencies in project management as well as in the application of informal and formal planning instruments and quality assurance procedures including urban design feasibility studies, as well as in themes of urban climate and sustainability. • You wish to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with specialist departments within the Planning and Construction Directorate as well as with other directorates. • You are motivated to work in the tension between private and public interests as well as in the environment of politics and administration. Your department Urban planning is responsible for the spatial and structural development of the city. We handle diverse tasks in the areas of urban design / open space, monument preservation, spatial development, as well as area and site development. We maintain professional exchange within our team as well as with colleagues from other departments. The short distances to important interfaces of the city administration and the collegial interaction with one another support our work. We create an environment for new ideas and independent work.
