Social Worker (50 %) as maternity cover

The Social Affairs department includes an assessment service, the Social Service for Children and Youth, the Social Service for Adults, the Central Services, the Social Audit Office, the Health Promotion Specialist Unit, and the Labour Integration Specialist Unit. For the assessment service, we are looking for a Social Worker (50 %) as maternity cover starting from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement, for a fixed term until 30 April 2027 Your tasks ### • Initial assessment, networking, coordination and initiation of immediate measures in the areas of social assistance and adult protection • Assessments in the field of adult protection on behalf of the Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) • New intake and clarification of entitlement for social assistance applications • Advice and support for persons regarding material, financial, legal and personal issues with the aim of professional and social integration You bring with you ### • Degree in Social Work (University of Applied Sciences or University) • Several years of professional experience in statutory social assistance or in adult protection • Comprehensive knowledge of subsidiarity and social insurance issues • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, resilience, quick comprehension as well as good organizational and administrative way of working • Communication and conflict skills, initiative and innovativeness • Very good German skills in speaking and writing What awaits you ### • Versatile and exciting activity in a dedicated and well-coordinated team • Independent work with creative freedom in an attractive and varied field of work • Contemporary employment conditions with the possibility of home office • Very attractive and centrally located workplace on the Aare • Subscriptions for Strandbad Thun, Flussbad Schwäbis, Kunsteisbahn Thun and Stadtbibliothek Thun • Care allowance in addition to the family allowance
