Bern, Switzerland (and home office) \| 90-90% The contribution you can make <br /> • Calculate the quarterly GDP and independently handle a component of the GDP • Develop mathematical routines, estimation methodologies and processes, from the initial idea to implementation • Handle R packages and IT projects in collaboration with other offices • Develop and manage nowcasting and forecasting models • Report orally and in writing on the economic situation • Evaluate current macroeconomic issues and conduct quantitative analyses <br /> What distinguishes you <br /> • Quantitative economics studies or data science/statistics studies with good macroeconomic knowledge • Relevant professional experience; a doctorate or another postgraduate continuing education degree is an advantage • Technical approach, experience with the R programming language and IT projects is an advantage • Perspicacity, goal orientation, team spirit • Initiative and implementation skills: bringing new ideas, taking responsibility and encouraging improvements • Excellent knowledge of two official languages and good knowledge of English, spoken and written <br /> In summary The Conjuncture sector observes the economic trend on behalf of the Confederation. In particular, it calculates the quarterly GDP, analyzes the current economic situation and develops the Confederation's economic forecasts. We work with data using the R statistics program and constantly develop methods, processes and models. We are looking for a proactive person who can handle projects independently.
