The city of Langenthal forms the center of the Bernese Oberaargau with a catchment area of around 80,000 people and is, with approximately 16,400 inhabitants, the eighth largest municipality in the canton of Bern. The Social Welfare Office of the city of Langenthal is a medium-sized social service with 24 dedicated social workers, divided into 5 teams, led by group leaders, department heads, and a head of department. We have a well-organized administration and are a young and dynamic team. As of August 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for a social worker/social assistance (80%-100%).
